This is a wild ride of literary absorption. The supernatural element is fascinating and the whole thing is haunting. At its heart it is a crime thriller, but it is a black heart that beats in this novel, a deep hole that drags you in. It adds creepy details that will keep you gripped. The gathering heroes add a nice touch, and you feel your pulse race as they come together. The characters are deep and full of growth. The bad guy has so many layers, and a fantastic backstory. This is actually an enjoyable read but it will twist all over the place and keep you guessing. The ending is like taking a breath after being trapped under ice. You are very glad to get there, but boy what a journey!
