A funny and clever story. Written in a deliciously rich and yet familiar tone. The narrative follows Darren a young man who wants to escape. He takes a teaching job in Korea and finds that life isn't any easier over the other side of the world. Disaster seems to follow him and the reader is caught up in each misstep, hoping for better things to come. This is such a delightful read, and for a first novel, it shows a talent that is blossoming into something rare and amazing.
