The Drowning Land - This is a book that will keep you page turning, a rather brilliant historical novel, but it is not like others you may have read. The fantasy element is very good and I thought the troll idea worked well and was very clever. It seemed very well researched and each character is introduced with details that make you realise the author likes his work. The adventure is epic and sprawling, the world that they live in is fully immersive and the bad guys are flawed beings and not two dimensional. Highly recommended and highly enjoyable.
